Meredith Howard, PMHNP-BC

Meredith Howard, PMHNP-BC is a dedicated healthcare professional with a unique and diverse background that blends the realms of psychology and nursing. Born in New York, she has called Georgia home for more than half of her life.

 

Meredith earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Georgia and then returned to school in 2016, completing an accelerated 2nd degree program to obtain her BSN in nursing from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan.

Meredith's journey in healthcare took an impactful turn during the COVID-19 pandemic. Serving as a bedside nurse, she witnessed firsthand the mental health struggles faced by both her fellow nurses and the patients under their care. This experience became a catalyst for her decision to further her education and make a more profound impact on mental health in the healthcare setting. Driven by a passion for holistic patient care, Meredith chose to pursue her Master’s degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, becoming a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in 2023.

Meredith is the mother of five and resides in Oconee County, where she finds joy in spending quality time with her children and family. As she embarks on this new chapter in her career, Meredith is poised to make a significant and positive impact in the field of psychiatric mental health nursing.
